The “We Are in the Forest with Rousseau” art workshop, organized within the scope of the Sustainable Technological Adaptation Project (SETAP), carried out in collaboration between Yeditepe University’s Department of E-Commerce and Ataşehir Municipality, has been successfully completed.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Filiz Piyale Onat, a faculty member from Yeditepe University’s Department of Plastic Arts and Painting, with the contributions of students and academics from the Department of E-Commerce, and with the active participation of children.
Within the scope of the workshop, it was aimed for children to freely express themselves through art, develop their imagination by creating original works, strengthen their attention and focus by distancing themselves from digital stimuli, and support their creative thinking processes through a nature- and art-based experience.
During the event, children learned about the life and works of the renowned painter Henri Rousseau, and then designed their own imaginary forests using pastel colors. In this way, they moved away from screen habits, became involved in an active production process, and had the opportunity to reflect their inner worlds through art.
The works produced throughout the workshop became strong examples reflecting the children’s individual perspectives, creativity, and free-thinking abilities. Through the supportive power of art, the workshop contributed to both the social and cognitive development of the children.

Within the scope of SETAP, children will continue to be brought together with various workshops based on art, technology, nature, and social interaction in the upcoming period. Each new event will offer experiences that support their multidimensional development and contribute to building a balanced relationship with technology.
Looking forward to coming together again in future workshops…
